Lakota Language Programs
The Lakota language today is spoken by thousands of Sioux people living primarily in South Dakota, west of the Missouri River. The term "Sious" refers to people of similar ethnic backgrounds and includes Lakota speakers (the most mumerous), Dakota and Nakota speakers.

This 15 audio cassette program (12 hrs) with an 87 pp workbook and a 9 page final test is for the serious learner. Written by native speakers, the program was developed by the Oglala Lakota College, Pine Ridge Reservation. The emphasis is on sound and meaning. All recordings are by native speakers. The exercises use the Roman alphabet because Lakota was never written until recently. Highly recommended.

Speak Navajo encompasses verb usage in all forms and tenses (present, past and future). The entire text is recorded by a native speaker as an aid to the correct pronunciation of the language. The program focuses on the use of vocabulary and structures relative to topics of daily living such as weaving, animal husbandry, tribal government and planting.
